The statistics on international protection for the first quarter of 2020 was published by the Office for Foreigners

The published data shows that in the first quarter of the year 899 foreigners applied for international protection in Poland, including 567 foreigners who applied for the first time. This shows a decrease of approximately 6% compared to the same period of 2019. A total of 74 persons met the conditions for granting international protection. Negative decisions were issued against 551 foreigners and 574 proceedings were discontinued.

In the first quarter of this year 74 foreigners met the conditions for granting international protection (refugee status or subsidiary protection). They were mainly Russian citizens - 28 persons, Turkey - 12 persons and Tajikistan - 12 persons. In total, 551 persons received negative decisions - mainly Russians - 290 persons and Ukrainians - 128 persons.
Most proceedings ended with discontinuation - 574 cases. This concerned the vast majority of Russian citizens (453 persons). Cases are discontinued when a foreigner left Poland without waiting for a decision.
